The SAT

The SAT is a standardized paper-and-pencil test administered by The College Board that measures your critical thinking skills. It tests your ability to analyze and solve problems in math, critical reading, and writing.

Most high school students take the SAT for the first time in the Spring of their Junior year. This gives them enough time to re-take the test again during the Fall of their Senior year if they aren't satisfied with their score.

SAT Preparation

Kaplan's unique SAT program combines teacher-led instruction, on-line resources, review books and software. This complete approach ensures that you have the knowledge and confidence you need to score your best on test day.

Our classroom courses, online course, and private tutoring options were created to provide you with the preparation you need and the flexibility you want.

Prep smarter with SmartPoints

Kaplan helps students prep smarter and score higher by focusing on the SAT skills that will earn them the most points on Test Day. It will help you make the most of your time and your score.

On the standardized tests like the SAT, certain skills are tested more often than others. For example, the SAT contains more questions about equations than angles. To earn the most points on Test Day, we teach our students to focus on and master these most-tested skills.

In addition to the classroom courses and private tutoring options, Kaplan students gain access to our state-of-the art patented online resources—24h/24h, 7j/7j—which include:
